For our location in Dresden, we are looking for you to join our team full-time as a
Senior Manager Global Commodities (m/f/d)

 

Your Tasks:

 

  • You will lead and develop the Global Commodity Lead Buyers in Europe and China, fostering their professional growth and enhancing international collaboration.
  • As head of the Supplier Development team, you will be responsible for optimizing processes, tools, and expertise across eight key commodity groups, including semiconductors, modules, mechanics, software, and electrical components.
  • In collaboration with the strategic procurement team, you will drive global supplier improvement programs and conduct annual price negotiations together with regional procurement managers.
  • Your role includes shaping and refining strategic procurement processes, creating a comprehensive commodity structure, and ensuring that all KPIs are aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Acting as the first point of escalation, you will implement cost-reduction measures at the program level, initiate cross-functional quality assurance initiatives, and ensure compliance with legal requirements and sustainability standards.
  • By introducing digital tools, such as the Ariba system, you will actively advance the digitalization and standardization of supplier management as well as global SRM processes.
  • Reporting directly to the Global Head of Procurement, you will consolidate relevant KPIs, provide regular price forecasts, and coordinate alignment between global and regional procurement strategies.

 

Your Qualifications:

 

  • A degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, business administration, or a similar field forms the foundation of your expertise.
  • You bring over 10 years of professional experience in procurement, supplier management, or as an SQE, with extensive knowledge of the supplier market; experience in the automotive sector, preferably with a Tier-1 supplier, is an advantage.
  • With at least 7 years of leadership experience, including budget responsibility, you have a proven track record of successfully managing teams.
  • Your profile is complemented by strong expertise in contract management and demonstrated negotiation successes, as well as experience managing procurement volumes in the triple-digit million range.
  • Proficiency in SAP Ariba SLP, SAP ECC MM, and QM modules enables you to handle complex systems effectively.
  • An auditor certification is a plus, along with solid knowledge of standards such as VDA 6, IATF 16949, and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Your strong technical aptitude, combined with assertiveness and excellent communication skills, makes you a standout candidate. Fluency in English is essential, and additional language skills are a welcome bonus.
